Don Rickles Biography

Don Rickles was an American comedian, author, actor, as well as stand-up comic. He was well-known and well-respected entertainer. His quick wit and funny remarks accompanied by his genuine love for his fans created an irresistible mix of amusement, fun and laughter. Due to his amazing ability to make insults sound funny and inoffensive he was a regular at celebrity roasts. Since his jokes were crude and hurtful, he attracted many attention, and anyone who was exposed to them would have a great time. Although he started out as a typical comedian with rehearsed jokes in mind, he soon realized that his spontaneous remarks were much more appreciated than the written material. His style endeared him to many of his fans, which included the legendary Frank Sinatra. He also appeared in a variety of film and TV productions. He also released two comedy albums. He received many honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from  The Comedy Awards. He was a stand-up comedian and earned a number of nicknames, such as "The Merchant of Venom" and 'The Insultan' 'Mr. In order to earn a living Rickles started doing stand-up comedy. He was eventually referred to as an 'insult comedian'. In the 1970s, he began by playing a key role in the movie "Kelly's Heroes" (1970), starring Clint Eastwood. He also made appearances in television comedies like  The Don Rickles Show' (1972) and 'The Dean Martin Roasts' (1973). Barbara Sklar was Don Rickles' wife on March 14 in 1965. They had two children, Mindy and Larry. Their son passed away on December 31, 2011. His best friend was Bob Newhart and the two often went on vacation along with their wives. They been on numerous shows together, including  Newhart.' Don Rickles died of kidney failure on April 6, 2017, in his home in Beverly Hills, California.
